of Commerce. A ribbon cutting was held on Thursday, March 16th at the Chamber office.

135 Seafood Bar and Grill Celebrates Grand Opening With A Ribbon Cutting

The 135 Seafood Bar and Grill celebrated its grand opening with a ribbon cutting along with the Greater Florence Chamber of Commerce and its Ambassadors.

135 specializes in Cajun and New Orleans style food along with other various menu items such as Gator bites, Etouffee Du Jour, fish, and pasta dishes. 135 has a full complement bar as well.

They will soon be opening a rooftop bar at the location. Plans are for it to be open in April of this year.

The spokesperson for the restaurant expressed, “If you are in the downtown area and would like a good meal and refreshments, 135 Seafood Bar and Grill is the place to be.” Their tag line is, Let The Good Times Roll! Lucky Dog Animal Rescue Joins Chamber And Hosts Ribbon Cutting

Lucky Dog Animal Rescue celebrated its grand opening of its one-of-a-kind Rescue Campus in Florence, South Carolina (2502 North Williston Road, Florence, SC 29506). The lifesaving campus includes The Lazin Animal Foundation Infectious Disease Infections Care Unit, the JR Peterson Ringworm Center, the Verstanding Family Foundation Community Vet Clinic, and “Stopover Station,” a kennel building to house animals preparing for transport north.
Mayor Teresa Myers Ervin along with representatives from the Greater Florence Chamber of Commerce and other community leaders were in attendance to celebrate the grand opening. The event was open to all members of the community as Lucky Dog celebrate this historic day for animals across the rural south.
“We are so excited that this day has finally come,” said Mirah Horowitz, Founder and Executive Director of Lucky Dog Animal Rescue. “Pet overpopulation in Florence is a real challenge. This facility will not only prepare animals for transport to areas where adoptions are possible, it will also help community members care for their pets, preventing unwanted litters and avoiding the need to surrender in the first place.”

“Since its inception in 2009, Lucky Dog has helped save over 23,500 animals, ensuring they go on to live healthy, happy lives. We have seen the process firsthand with our own LDAR rescue dog, Jill.

Above The Rest Residential Care Facility Celebrates Chamber Membership With A Ribbon Cutting

Above The Rest Residential Care Facility celebrated its grand opening on Wednesday, February 8th. ATR was established in 2021 and currently employs 20 staff.

There are many residential care homes. What sets ATR apart from the others is their emphasis on a trained staff, quality care, personalized attention to each resident, without altering their individuality. At ATR, they put the “care” back in Residential Care. As a residential care home, ATR provides assistance with day-to-day tasks while allowing the individuals to maintain their independence. Their goal is to assist each resident in maintaining their physical, emotional, social and spiritual quality of life.

ATR offers all the comforts of home, in addition to providing the residents with many social activities. Stretch Fusion Mobility Spa Opens In Florence

The locally owned and operated Stretch Fusion Mobility Spa has its grand opening Saturday at its 1518 Meadors Farm Road location.

The mobility spa helps clients achieve mobility, fitness, and wellbeing by providing facilitated stretch therapy in a spa environment. Stretch Fusion was established in East Tennessee, opening its first location in March 2021, and continues to expand with its 4th location opening in Florence, the first in South Carolina.

Shane and Robin Cox started Stretch Fusion to help others with chronic pain and limited mobility, and to perform better in sports and daily life.

Regular clients include not just those with pain and limited mobility but also those who want to improve performance and recovery such as runners, golfers, and those that play tennis, basketball, football, volleyball, and baseball with clients ranging from teenagers to those in their 90s.

Resurrection Restoration Joins The Florence Chamber

Since 2004, Resurrection Center for the Homeless has opened its doors to homeless individuals and families with the greatest needs. Among those helped by the mission are homeless veterans, mentally ill, disabled and displaced. RRCH has taken in people that were not accepted by other programs. The director recalls a time when the founders even took a struggling family into their home for several days until placement could be found for them.

RRCH has partnered with the local health facilities, VA, schools, churches, other homeless shelters and agencies to place families and individuals with special needs.

American Sign Language Studio Joins Chamber

Jazzmyne Pipkins says her business, American Sign Language Studio, was born from her personal struggle.

The studio, thought to be the first of its kind, has joined the Greater Florence Chamber of Commerce, and a ribbon cutting was held Wednesday, December 21st.

Pipkins grew up hard of hearing and had to learn how to navigate the world with the disability. She grew up a fighter and learned early how to persevere with difficulties while performing at the same level and oftentimes at higher levels than her peers.

Pipkins said she stands today as a proud and strong black businesswoman through all of her trials. She has persevered and attained her goal. Currently, Pipkins has a cochlear implant and uses hearing aids.
