McLeod Health’s Pediatric Education Day Bridges Classroom, Practice

Pediatrics is the branch of medicine that deals specifically with infants, children and teenagers. The very first Pediatric Education Day, held at the McLeod Medical Plaza on Monday, was attended by over 130 students who learned about a variety of topics from pediatric forensics to childhood nutrition.

“We have one pediatric floor, one labor and delivery unit, one (neonatal intensive care unit), but we service so many schools,” said Charity Gerald, director of recruiting and workforce development. “We wanted to make sure we were able to give everybody ample opportunity to be introduced to pediatric care at McLeod Health.”
