Leadership Florence graduation took place in the James Allen Plaza in downtown Florence, SC. Graduation plaques were presented in the outdoor venue during the presentation ceremony, Monday July 21, 2020. There were 42 area business and community leaders in this year 9-month program.

NASCAR To Return To Darlington Raceway

NASCAR will return to Darlington Raceway (Darlington) for an expanded two days of racing action on Sept. 5-6. The track Too Tough to Tame will host the famed Southern 500® NASCAR Cup Series Playoff race on Sunday, Sept. 6, Sports Clips Haircuts VFW 200 NASCAR Xfinity Series race on Saturday, Sept. 5, and expands with the NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series on Sunday, Sept. 6.

“NASCAR racing continues to grow at Darlington Raceway with the addition of the NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series as part of throwback weekend,” said Darlington President Kerry Tharp. “After successfully hosting the sports’ return to competition in May, the track Too Tough to Tame will be ready for more of NASCAR’s best race experience.”

Soulift Celebrates Chamber Membership with a Ribbon Cutting

Soulift, a Yoga, Pilates and Barre studio, celebrated joining the Greater Florence Chamber of Commerce on Thursday, August 6th with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Owners Grace Timms and Belinthia Elder cut the ribbon and were joined by chamber ambassadors, family and some of their staff for the event.

The Drama Lady Theatre Group Joins Chamber

The Drama Lady Theatre Group celebrated joining the Greater Florence Chamber of Commerce with a ribbon cutting on Tuesday, July 21st at the Chamber. Chamber ambassadors joined the Founder and Artistic Director Triza Cox as she cut the ribbon. The Drama Lady Theatre Group is a South Carolina-based group with a focus on classical and innovative works, Cox said. Founded in 2017, the group’s mission is to “democratize the consumption of art and to raise the aesthetic of art.”

Steven Smith Injury Law Firm

The Steven Smith Injury Law Firm celebrated membership in the Greater Florence Chamber of Commerce with a ribbon cutting Thursday, July 23rd. Chamber ambassadors joined the celebration.  Steven Smith said he has been practicing law for approximately 2½ years. Prior to opening his office roughly one month ago in Florence, Smith worked for a large law firm in Charleston, Shelly Leeke Law Firm.

Graceland Buildings Joins Chamber

A ribbon cutting was held Wednesday, July 29th at Graceland Buildings of the Pee Dee celebrating its membership into the Greater Florence Chamber of Commerce. Chamber ambassadors joined the celebration. Jody Martin, Owner of Graceland Buildings of the Pee Dee, opened the Graceland dealership in Florence in September 2019 at 2325 S. Irby St. He is joined by his wife, Cindy, in operating the business.

Orkin Pest Control in Florence has joined the Greater Florence Chamber of Commerce and celebrated on Wednesday, July 8th with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at its location on West Evans Street. Chamber ambassadors joined in the celebrating. Orkin has been in the pest control business for more than 100 years.

Greater Florence Chamber of Commerce hosts Annual Spring Golf Classic

The Greater Florence Chamber of Commerce hosted their annual Spring Golf Classic Thursday, June 4th at Traces Golf Club. There were 104 players on 26 teams participating, while enjoying eight great hospitality sponsored holes throughout the course. Each offered food, gifts and beverages. Everest Payment Solutions

Everest Payment Solutions celebrated rejoining the Greater Florence Chamber of Commerce on Monday, June 8th with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the Chamber office. Chamber ambassadors joined in the celebration.

Everest Payment Solutions is a credit card processing company. Nicole Griggs is a Regional Manager and Tim Griggs is a Support Specialist. They provide processing solutions for all types of businesses providing mobile, e-commerce and brick-and-mortar solutions.

“I’ve been in this industry for 16 years and take pride in serving the needs of our customers year after year, and we have some great partnerships, including First Reliance Bank for 15 of those years,” Nicole Griggs said.

TAB – Florence/Myrtle Beach Joins Chamber

Lee Freeman, Owner of TAB Florence-Myrtle Beach, celebrated joining the Greater Florence Chamber of Commerce on Thursday, June 11th with a ribbon cutting outdoors at the Chamber office. Chamber ambassadors took part in the ceremony.

TAB stands for The Alternative Board. Freeman said TAB helps “forward-thinking business owners grow their business, increase profitability and improve their lives by leveraging local business advisory boards, private business coaching and proprietary strategic services.

TAB is celebrating its 30th year in business.
