Darling Fibers And The American Heart Association Team Up For Golf Tournament

Florence Greek Festival Returns May 16 – 18

This year they are bringing back their outdoor dining, along with the convenient Drive Thru lines. Their covered dining area has been relocated next to the Church and will feature a dancing stage, live band and vendors. They will offer all their delicious dinners and homemade pastries, along with some “surprise” additions!

Junior Leadership Florence County Holds Graduation

This bright group of students represented the different schools in Florence County and spent the year honing their leadership skills and learning more about their community. They celebrated with their peers and families with a commencement ceremony on May 7th at Francis Marion University.
The Junior Leadership Florence County Program is presented by the Clemson Extension Florence County Extension/4-H, The Greater Florence Chamber of Commerce and Francis Marion University with support from the community.

Florence Flamingos Still In Search Of Host Families

All that is required of a host family is to provide a bed, access to a bathroom/laundry room/kitchen. In return, host families will receive tickets to all home and away games, invites to exclusive events throughout the year, and exciting memories! Host families are NOT required to provide meals, transportation, or attend any games. The team is made up of full-time players, who are here from the middle of May through the end of July, and temporary players who are only here in the month of July. Marksmanship Park Planned For Florence
/in Frontpage Article, Images, News /by Mandy HowleFlorence County Progress, the private sector of the Florence County Economic Development Partnership, is working with the county to repurpose 500 acres of the county’s former landfill on Paper Mill Road to build a marksmanship park.
Plans are being drawn to recreate the world-renowned Civilian Marksmanship Program Park in Talladega, Alabama. It would accommodate thousands for firearm training and competitions.
“We are trying to recreate a Talladega in Florence,” said Jill Heiden Lewis, chairman of Progress. “It’s a perfect fit for Florence County Progress.”

Friends Of The Florence County Library To Host Author Luncheon
