VBC LP Holds Ribbon Cutting In the James Allen Plaza To Celebrate Chamber Membership

Managing partner Vincent Coe cut the ribbon and was joined by chamber ambassadors and staff. VBC LP (Balcony Advisors) is a partnership that was formed in 2020.

Owner Shiandra Davis cut the ribbon and celebrated with family, friends and Chamber staff and ambassadors. The non-medical home care business is located at 3656 S. Irby St. in Florence. Davis said she provides non-medical home care services, catering to the disability and senior community. She works with a staff of five, including nurses and personal care aides.

Influence Digital Agency Holds Ribbon Cutting with Florence Chamber

The ribbon cutting was held in the James Allen Plaza on Dargan Street. Joining owner Lance Lewis were Chamber staff, Chamber Ambassadors and Josh Richardson, Sales Director, and Richardson’s wife, Erika. Influence Digital Agency is a small ad agency focusing on small to medium size businesses based in North and South Carolina, Lewis said. The company was established in North Carolina and most recently branched out into the Florence area. Lewis said 100 percent of their focus is on the Florence market at this time. Richardson will be serving the Florence/Myrtle Beach area. He has nearly 25 years of digital advertising sales. Lewis said Richardson previously worked for one of the top three media groups. He said Richardson’s experience in digital advertising will be invaluable to this area.

Leadership Florence Class Helps Community Nonprofits During COVID For Service Project
/in Frontpage Article, Images, News /by Mandy HowleThe Greater Florence Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Florence class is forging ahead despite the COVID-19 pandemic with its service project this year. Members have benefited in many ways from participating in Leadership Florence. Some have had to restrict their attendance to Zoom while others have had limited interaction. The 2020-2021 class is working on a “Helping Florence Bounce Back” donation drive. The donation drive continues until May 21 and is the class project for this year’s Leadership Florence group. The class has collection bins at more than 70 locations throughout Florence to collect everything from personal hygiene items to school supplies. The supply drive will culminate in a Leadership Day of Service from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, May 22, at First Presbyterian Church, located at 700 S. Park Ave.

Notch 8 Catering Hosted A Business After Hours on April 29th
/in Frontpage Article, Images, News /by Mandy HowleThe first Greater Florence Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours since the COVID-19 pandemic restricted large gatherings was held on Thursday, April 29th at Victors in downtown Florence and was hosted by Notch 8 Catering. “It’s a good crowd,” said Jay Lavrinc, Director of Membership Relations with the Greater Florence Chamber of Commerce. Jayne L. Murray, Director of Catering, and her crew at Notch 8 prepared samples of their catering menu for the chamber members. Their catering service offers budget-minded menus for breakfast, box lunches, and large social gatherings.

Florence Wildcats Join Chamber

They were joined by chamber ambassadors at the event on Wednesday, April 28th. The organization began playing in Florence in 2017 as a nonprofit. Zach Alleyne, a founder and native of Florence, said it is an organization that has a minor league basketball team.

Leadership Florence Class Hosting A Supply Drive

The Leadership Florence Class of 2021 is excited to kick off their class project “Helping Florence Bounce Back”, a multi-faceted fundraiser and supply drive which aims to support three local nonprofits this year for our class project: HopeHealth, The Manna House, and United Way of Florence County. We are hosting a supply drive to benefit these organizations through May 21st. All monetary and/or supply donations will help the community by assisting local children, adults and families. Beauty and Beyond Salon & Spa Holds Ribbon Cutting
/in Frontpage Article, Images, News, Ribbon Cuttings /by Mandy HowleBeauty and Beyond Salon and Spa held a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Tuesday, April 20th celebrating its opening and membership in the Greater Florence Chamber of Commerce. Co-owners Monaisha Gilmore and Christy Reed were joined by chamber ambassadors, family and friends for the occasion. The full service salon opened in February at 797 N. Cashua Dr. in Florence. The partners operate the business by themselves at this time. More staff will be hired later. Beauty and Beyond offers an array of services including natural hair styling, blowouts, wraps, hair extensions, relaxers, hair color, waxing, nails, makeup, body contouring, lashes and brows.
