Junior Leadership Florence County 4-H Program Participates In State Government Day At The State House

It was GREAT DAY in South Carolina! Our Junior Leadership Florence County 4-H Class enjoyed a wonderful day in Columbia for the annual State Government Session and South Carolina 4-H Youth Development Legislative Day at the State House on Tuesday, March 11th.

Students were able to network with Mr. Cody Simpson, Executive Assistant to the Governor, our local lobbyists, our House of Representatives members and Senators. We ended the day by networking at the South Carolina 4-H Pinckney Leadership Program Luncheon!

Special thanks to Leadership Florence County Program, the Florence Chamber of Commerce, Francis Marion University and Clemson Florence County 4-H for making the opportunity possible for our youth. Special thanks JLFC Advisory Board Members, Mrs. Celia Urquhart, Pee Dee Regional Director for U.S. Senator Lindsay Graham, Superintendent, Dr. Neal Vincent, Florence County School District Two and Mr. Rusty Turner, Florence School District Two for their help chaperoning the trip.

If you know of any rising Florence County high school sophomores or juniors interested in participating next year, applications are now available! Deadline to apply is April 30.
