Hope Center Ministries Holds Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

Traci Nichols along with Casea Love, Sue Ann Frazier and Ashley Maynard Kelly from Hope Center Ministries and Chamber Ambassadors cut their ribbon joining the Greater Florence Chamber of Commerce and announcing their presence in Florence.

Hope Center Ministries, started in 2007 in Waverly, TN, is a faith-based addiction recovery program headquartered out of Oklahoma City, OK. They provide a Christ-centric approach to recovery that allows addicts and their families to become fully devoted followers of Christ in a supportive, residential environment. They foster a strong foundation of faith in their residents, supported by their community and church partners, with a focus on family at every step in the recovery journey. Through deep study of scripture, vocational training opportunities, and weekly 12-step study work through Celebrate Recovery. They create a pathway for individuals to achieve not just sobriety but lasting recovery from their hurts, habits, and hang-ups.

United Way Of Florence County Receives Big Donations

The Field Fastener golf playday raised nearly $14,000 for the United Way of Florence County, officials announced July 15.

The Field Fastener golf tournament was held in May.

It was the company’s second year to host the golf playday to improve lives. The event is part of the company’s overall effort to support nonprofit organizations and community improvement projects.

“All of us at Field Fastener are committed individually and as a company to making a positive difference in our community,” Field Fastener Site Leader Rich Rowlett said. “This event is all about having fun and raising money for a great cause, and we were able to increase the proceeds to United Way this year, which was a huge win for us.”

FCSO To Host 41st Annual National Night Out Celebration

Sheriff T.J. Joye, and the staff of the Florence County Sheriff’s Office, invites you to attend the 41st Annual National Night Out Celebration. National Night Out is a time for the public, community crime watch organizations, churches, local business, and law enforcement to come together to celebrate their dedication and commitment to keeping Florence County Communities safe. The 2024 National Night Out celebration will take place at the Leatherman Senior Center located at 600 Senior Way Florence, SC on August 6th at 5:00 PM.

The Chamber’s Emerging Leaders Class of 2024 held their Technology, Innovation and Industry session on Wednesday, July 18th.

The group heard presentations, did informative tours and visited several sites, including: HillSouth, SiMT, Vulcraft and GE Healthcare.

Class Of Eight Residents Ready To Go At MUSC Florence

MUSC Health Florence’s inaugural class of eight residents gathered for lunch and a chance to meet hospital staff — the start of a long-term plan to increase the number of practicing primary care physicians in the Pee Dee.

“We are welcoming our internal medicine residents; we started our residency program this year, said Ribal Al Aridi, MD, program director for the medical center’s internal medicine residency program. “We recruited eight residents and we got a 100% match rate. This is our first group, our inaugural class and we are welcoming them to MUSC Florence.”

“We are excited to welcome this class of internal medicine residents dedicated to pursuing medical excellence and share our commitment to serving the diverse health care needs of rural and underserved regions,” she said. “We matched with individuals who understand the profound impact they can have on improving health care access and outcomes for our community.”

O’Laire Named VP of HR Operations for McLeod Health

McLeod Health is pleased to announce that Beth O’Laire has been named Vice President of Human Resources Operations for McLeod Health.

O’Laire comes to McLeod from Ascension in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where she served as Market Chief HR Executive. In her new role, O’Laire will be responsible for day-to-day leadership for Human Resources Operations including Compensation and Benefits Administration, Employee Relations and Retention,  Human Resources Information Systems, the McLeod Child Development Center and Records Management.
